THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT
Join us for a very special and intimate site-specific film screening of Moon in the wonderful surroundings of Godlee Observatory, an astronomical observatory tower built in 1902, located on the roof of the Sackville Building in Manchester city centre.
Directed by Duncan Jones, Moon follows Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell), a man who experiences a personal crisis as he nears the end of a three-year solitary stint mining helium-3 on the far side of the Moon – what better way to experience the film than in the intimate surroundings of the Observatory’s main space, situated underneath the observatory tower…taking you to the moon and back.
Free tours of the observatory tower will be available for ticket holders between 6pm and 7pm (groups of 5 on a first come, first served basis), the film screening will then begin at 7pm.
Places are limited so advance booking is recommended. For ages 15+
Special thanks to Manchester Astronomical Society for making this event possible
